Little athletes
From a research on 6 to 11 year old kids, shows that the champion is a 200, product for kids, stores, all over Italy.
From this research results that almost the79% of children practice a sport regularly and enjoy it. The parents, "responsible" to answer the questions of this interview, have shown their faith in a sport that they judge as most healthy and complete for their kids: swimming.
37% of the kids go swimming
24% of the kids play soccer
16% of the kids do gymnastics
In a Country like Italy, where the soccer is the national sport, followed with passion and spirit by young, old and little ones, from this data it shows that there is growing interest for the swimming world.
What has influenced the little ones to get interested in swimming?
Firstly, the water activity is seen by the parents as a healthy and secure sport, recommended "even starting in early age" by kids doctor, while the
mothers prefering it for it's "soft" nature and the absence of violent contact with the other kids.
But who is the one that chooses the type of sport in the family?
For sure, the parents give their advise, stimulate their kids interests, but the little ones are the ones who impose their choices and have their ideas very clear whatever concerns the sport that they intend to practice.
In Italy, just recently ,in 1990, started the active law that officialy indroduces the "body" in elementary schools, while in other Countries, the physical activity has a primary importance in the healthy progress of the baby: in France to pass the fifth elementary exams, it is also needed to pass the swimming test. It is a long way to be able to bring the correct evaluation to a sport activity like the swimming, but it looks that it's going towards a fast improvement.
