 There are 13 cabañas, totaling 44 rooms with six suites. All rooms are set up like private villas and are beautifully decorated in a tropical theme. They are very modern with buff floor and brick fireplaces. Many guests spend their time at the beach and on the jogging/walking trail, a 1.6 mile trail that winds through the desert surrounding the property. There are other less taxing activities such as an 18-hole putting green, swim-up bar and tennis.
Sleek and Japanese-modern, with an austere air, the Twin Dolphin has been a hideaway for the rich and famous since 1977. Guest rooms are in low-lying casitas along a seaside cliff and are furnished in minimalist style, without TVs or phones. The hotel is worth a visit if only for the reproductions of Baja's cave paintings on the lobby wall. In the restaurant, which has been updated, chef Michael Richards uses homemade goat cheese, homegrown organic vegetables and herbs, and local seafood for his creations. The Saturday-night fiesta buffet has become legendary, and reservations are a must.
